or, the reports of my demise have been greatly exaggerated.
Astute readers might have noticed that this site has been living on Cloudflare for the past few months. I've converted the old Wordpress site to a hunk of static pages. That's made it possible to do the following…
This is the first post on my new blog platform which I intend to release as an open source project in the very near future. I've been working on this intermittently in my spare time over the last 9 months and, after gestating in a nascent form, it's now ready enough to take over from the Wordpress installation I've been using for well over 10 years.
There are some notable differences. There are no comments yet. I have a plan to bolt something on top for that. Older posts still exist – the "Older Posts" link at the bottom of the index page will take you to the old Wordpress indexes or use the Archives link in the header. The fly-out menu at the top has been replaced by a list of links in the header and there's no sidebar anymore. Email subs are Right Out.
I don't care about any of that. I'll continue to evolve this app and site as I need it.
What is there: there's a feed.xml file for adding this site to your newsreader. I use Feedbin for that and it's great. I've got some nice image support via Lightbox.js and image resizing via ImageSharp.

Yeah, there's some tech in here, but I promise, I'm not going to spend the whole time talking about blog software. I'll do that elsewhere.
What I'm On About
These days, I'm really into motorcycles. Dual-sport and Adventure motorcycles, specifically. I plan on writing about my adventures, discoveries and modifications to my bikes. I plan on putting up photos and video when I can.
I still love audio and music playback software. That's become a popular series of posts and I'd like to continue along with some of my recent additions. Audirvana Origin on Linux, has been pretty great, and I want to share my experiences with that.
And, in theory, writing about writing. I wrote some books once upon a time. I might do it again.
So yeah, that's me. I hope you'll stick around and follow along. You can find me at @robcee.net@bsky.app.
Happy Thanksgiving! 🇨🇦
